As Mayor of the City of Wetumpka, I would like to welcome you to
our city’s website.  We hope our citizens and visitors alike will find
the information contained herein to be useful.

We are excited about this opportunity to visit with you through the internet.
The City of Wetumpka is a progressive and energetic city and our goal is to
provide our citizens with the very best service a city can provide, and for our
visitors, an unforgettable experience that will make them want to return.
We ask that you continue to watch our website for changes and additions so
that we can provide you with the most updated services and information.

Wetumpka, known as “The City of Natural Beauty” is located along the banks
of the beautiful Coosa River.  As you browse through the pages, you will
see that our history and heritage is thoughtfully preserved.  The city sits in
the scenic, southern foothills of the Appalachian Mountains with elevation
ranging from a low point of 150 feet above sea level on the west side of the
Coosa River to a high point of 540 feet on Bald Knob Mountain.  Please visit
our Wetumpka Impact Crater page and read about the eroded remains
of a meteorite crater which blasted 2,000 feet into the coastal area of the
United States at Wetumpka, Alabama approximately 84 million years ago.

Keeping an eye to the future, we have set goals which make the livability and
quality of life in Wetumpka the best in the nation.  We will continue to work
diligently to keep our city the best place in the country to work, live, and play.

Again, please check back regularly to see the changes and new information
that will be available to you.  If you have any questions or comments, please
contact me via email at mayor@cityofwetumpka.com or better, stop by
my office, my door is always open.

Sincerely,

 Jerry Willis
